Dirty Words combine the energy and passion of spoken-word poetry with melodic rock and jazz influences. The band consists of award-winning poet Colin Hassard and multi-instrumentalists Ashley Manners and Seonaid Murray.
Their first single Wake Up received international airplay and was a 'Track of the Day' on BBC Radio Ulster's Across the Line. In 2024, their song Children Don't Exist was included in the Oh Yeah Music Centre's 'Belfast Music Recommends' Spotify playlist.
Dirty Words have performed in the Ulster Museum, at the C.S. Lewis Festival, Sunflowerfest, the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival, the closing ceremony of the NI Human Rights Festival, and supported Duke Special at the Imagine Festival's Democracy Day 2019 celebration.
Debut album Age of the Microwave Dinner is available on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Amazon Music and Bandcamp.
